I did not want to create an account with either Overdive or Netlibrary - so I used Project Guten burg and watched that tutitorial and found it interesting.

Location Podcast

I found alot of interesting Podcast thru Yahoo- these are kinda boring though

Completion of 23 things.

I had no idea of the amount of "stuff" you can find- send- download and have at your fingertips. IT is almost too much. I get so confused sometimes about all the different formats and all the different "words" that are used in the computer savy world.
I found this program really helpful in helping to sort it all out. Now when someone says RSS , flickr- blogs-tagging - Youtube and oh yea- Wikis- I at least have an idea what they are and how they are used. I am in no way a pro- and do not really know if I will use any of this info- maybe for a project etc.
I thought the program was really good at covering the subject.
I did find it confusing with the directions. Sometimes if you tried to follow them they did not lead you to the right place, or you had to download something and I was never sure if I was doing it right. I did not like it when we had to sign -in for everything.
Over all , I found it very informative and would do this again. I am so pressed for time- and this was not really that time consuming.

Great program.

YouTube with Puppies

Hi looked thru many videos and then I found one with some golden Retriever puppies and that was it! I have a golden retriever and she is the most wonderful dog. Lucy is 5yrs old now, but I can remember how cute she was and I just loved this video.

2.0 Awards list

This was fun- the first site I tried to get into under communication was blocked by my computer- not sure what was on it. I then went into games and tried Guess the Google- this is were you get 12 google images and you have to guess what was googled. I got one right!

Online Productivity

Looked on ZoHo and Google ? - I wrote a document on Zoho - but could not get it to send to my blog. Not sure I understood what I was suppose to do with it. I understand the idea behind ZOHo.

Blog for SandBox

This was fun- I added a comment about Harry Potter and it was easy to add and edit .

Wikis

Now this I understood. I looked at a few wikis from other libraries. Book Reviews from Princeton Public library was interesting. Some of the ways I think we could use a wiki page would be maybe with ONE BOOK- we could start a wiki page and have patrons who are reading a book - give thoughts etc. Our local history could be another page- accessed through the library. I am sure that we could get alot of thoughts and historical news from patrons in the area to add to this Wiki. Those are a few thoughts for use of a Wiki.

Watched the video by Mike- was really neat- held my attention- kinda scarry as to how much a computer ( machine ) is able to do! I was going to respond to videao but do not have an account on YouTube- do not want one.

Exploring Technorati

I understood this alittle better- it is a way to tag blogs- so if I was interested in only blogs about - Tim McGraw- It would sort them out and tag only those blogs about Tim and put in my favorites. This was alittle easier to understand- but it would have to be for persons who are hardcore bloggers. NOT ME

Delicious bookmarking

Wow! Did this every mess me up! I am not that computer dumb- but I could not figure this out. I tried to set up an accout with Del.icio.us- but was unable to because I did not have administrative ok on this computer - so I could not download any software- I then looked at an easy tutitorial ( uh) not so easy. I still am not at all certain how this works or what I would every use it for. I understand it is like looking into others files- and organizing your bookmarks- but I would have to have a handson workshop with this site.

Play Week

HI this week was fun. I tried to make an animated character- one of the Simpson's- I made it - but I could not figure out how to save it and use later. I also looked aroung at all the different things you could do- make cards etc. The Library Thing looked great along with the Rollyo site. I just don't think I play enough on the web to have these type of tools . Interesting week

Merlin and Rss Feeds

I really struggled with this assignment. I think this was the hardest by far. I was successful with setting up some feeds (weather channel and merlin feed.) I understand the idea for the feeds , but probably will have a hard time using my blog feeds. I am just not use to getting my information this way, and it will be a habit I would have to get into.

New Technology

I you seen the ads for the new phone. I think it is also and Ipod-internet-cell phone. It is really cool. I am sure it is a pretty penny and has a lot of kinks to get out of it, but it looks so fun to use. I am not sure who is coming out with it, but I am sure others will follow. I guess what they are trying to do is put everything techno on one device- next thing you know they will add the GPS direction to it also.

Week 5 of 23 things" Flickr"

Went on Flickr and looked all around. Was impressed with everything you could do. I did find it alittle confusing because of all the things you can do. I think it is a wonderful site for sharing your photos with family and friends. I don't think I would use this site for anything other than this.

2 week of 23 steps

Hey all, Just finished listening to the 71/2 steps to successful learning. I agreed with everything said. Time will be my biggest factor to getting all this done. I will have to carve out so much each week and make myself sit down and do this.
